Emry is on the mend

This is our cat Emry. He is a lovely fellow. Both he and his brother suffer from seizures. When he was just a kitten we noticed that there was something a little different about him. He would be playing with the other kittens and then his third eyelids would roll up and cover his eyes. As he got a little older he would fall over for no apparent reason. We decided the other kittens could go to a loving home but we would keep Emry.

He came in the other night with a cut on his ear. It did not look dangerous so I did not give it another thought. Then two days later I found blood on the kitchen floor and it looked as if someone had shaved the hair off of his ear. He was wounded but it still did not look dangerous.

Yesterday we realized that infection had set in and the side of his face was very swollen. He had a large abscess on the right side of his face. I cleaned his wound with a salt water solution and tried to find the original puncture. His poor little face was so lop-sided. We decided we would leave it one more day and hope that Mother Nature would take care of things. If not we would have to take him to the vet.

This morning hubby found little puddles of blood all over the main floor. He cleaned it up and he cleaned Emry up as well. He made a little bed for Emry beside his chair in the living room and when I came downstairs this morning there was Emry resting on the bed. He has been so lethargic for the last 3 days. Now we know why. He is on the mend and when he asks to go outside again we will know that he is really feeling better. For now he is content just to stay in the house.

This is Emry lying on the living room window sill.

This is Emry with his sister Emma to his left and his brother Hans to his right. So cute. Our cats are our furry babies. We love them all.

Love Always,
Kim
