Oh summer is almost over. It took such a long time to arrive and now it is gone. It slips away so quickly. You put your head down and the next thing you know, September is just around the corner. Last night it was very foggy and the night before that we had a terrific thunderstorm. We have not had our typical summer weather this year. I wanted to do so many projects but they are still waiting for me. Mostly it was the lack of motivation and a small part was due to cloudy and cool days.
My mother has called twice in the last week to tell me two people that I know have passed away. One of the two gentlemen I have know most of my life. Life is short. We must be thankful for all we have. The good news is my nephew is engaged and he and his love will be getting married It is better to have a day filled with joy and memories than one filled with regret.
I just had a two day trip to Toronto to see my very best girlfriend. We had a wonderful time. We talk on the phone all the time but it is not the same as having the person sitting across from you. I have and always will value her friendship.
I was also able to have a little visit with my son. We had lunch together and we had so many things to talk about. We went to a favourite little Italian restaurant that we used to frequent. I drove through the neighbourhood where I lived and there were so many houses being torn down and larger homes being built on the same spot. Most things looked the same but some were gone completely. Changes are inevitable.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post and I am so sorry about your recent losses. But you are right, life really is very short, and we humans just don't really and truly live it knowing that fact. We get jolted into reality with loved ones passing, but it is so easy to get caught up in the rat race again...the more reason I love your little saying "There is always time for tea." :-) Very nice way to put such a complicated life into perspective.
Thank you visiting my blog - I love hearing about fellow sewers, although I definitely don't consider myself a "sewer" as I still need to take a few (or a lot) more classes to get back into the swing of sewing! I am glad my little area inspired you to rethink your area....oh how I know how frustrating it is not to have all that you need right there as you sew! Like you, my stash of goodies were all in bins in the basement - and the basement is a huge mess on top of that. I hope you find a way to get your sewing goodies near you as well - remember, "there is always time to sew" LOL :-)
